As a Technician, you will perform component tests according to military, industrial, customer and company specifications on passive electrical components.
Operate sophisticated testing and measurement equipment
Use computer terminal to log test request and product detail data
Use LAN system and reading stations to read and log detail test performance data into computer
Compose test reports for publication
Create workload and test plan schedules and set workload priorities
Set up AC and DC power supplies for electrical power type tests
Produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.
Review engineering drawings prior to the release.
Develop accurate layouts, assembly drawings and details.
This position will be running a computer numerical controlled lathe. This person must have knowledge and experience on CNC machines. Must be able to pull programs, insert tools, touch off tools, read programs, and run parts. This person must also be able to measure with calipers, micrometers, and various other gages. Maximum lift of 50 lbs. but 75% will be 25 lbs. or less. This person must be able to work with their hands well, and be able to follow work instructions and read blue prints. Attention to detail will be a plus. Willing to train an individual with manual lathe experience.
Work second shift from 4:30pm to 3:00am, 50 hours per week Monday-Friday.
Responsible for project work relating to electrical, mechanical, and programming systems of new and existing equipment. Responsible for assisting manufacturing Global Technicians with manufacturing floor maintenance issues as necessary, as well as mentoring the manufacturing Global Technicians in trouble shooting methods and techniques of manufacturing processes and equipment. Regular, punctual attendance is an essential job function. Ability to speak, read and write English. Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and practices and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures.
Support the Controls Coordinator & Process Engineers in implementation of process improvements in the area of mechanical & electrical systems, programming, and Vision Systems. Electrical and Pneumatic Machine Design and programming. Perform new equipment installation as directed. Support Plant initiatives in Vision Inspection technology and implementation. Coordinate Continuous Improvement efforts with Process Engineers to enhance processes. Technical development of the manufacturing Global Technicians. Project management for medium or smaller projects Execute IOQ validation protocols for Controls Systems and Vision Systems, and new equipment installations and process improvements as directed. Assist in development of machine settings and validated parameters for equipment. Assist in identifying future and current machine component and system risks. Continuously learn and keep abreast of new developments in technology in the Controls, Vision, and Process Monitoring industry. Assist in establishing plant wide controls standards. Other duties as assigned.
