Tool Die Maker (2nd and 3rd Shift)

- Salary: $19.00 to $26.00 /hour
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
High school, GED or equivalent experience in reading, writing and basic math skills. Experience in Tool & Die, and be able to organize workload. Knowledge of departmental processes and procedures. SPC.
Must be qualified to rebuild or repair all tooling including weld fixtures, wire benders or any other Tool & Die function that may occur. Must also be able to troubleshoot problems that occur while tooling is in production status.

Lay out and perform center drilling, reaming, lapping, tapping, countersinking and counter boring.
Machine parts to blueprints specifications.
Perform all milling, lathe, grinding, sawing and threading operations using proper tools for set ups and in a safe manner.
Must have good welding techniques, tig, stick, wire, as well as welding tool steels, aluminium, and various types of steels common to industry.
Indicate and layout existing die sections in order to make replacements when needed.
Must be able to heat treat and temper tool steels per job required.
Make adjustments on weld fixtures so that they will fit gage.
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Services, maintains and test new or changed dies.
Troubleshoots for problems during production.
Able to set-up appropriate tools in the department.
Work safely and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Must complete and maintain Division Forklift training course requirements.
Must complete and maintain division Crane Operators training course requirements.
Work to bluprints, sketches, written and verbal instructions with minimum supervision
Meet conditions of Tool & Die training program
Responsible for keeping machines clean and properly store tools.
Follow all company rules and policies.
Any duty requested by your supervisor.
Forty hours a week overtime will be expected as required. Plant environment. Flexible and able to work overtime weekends as needed. Able to work in various locations within and outside the plant. Responsible for being available as a resource for other toolmakers. As they encounter any difficulty completing a job on time, for trouble-shooting production and tooling improvements. Services, maintains, and test new or changed dies. Modifies dies to confirm to engineering changes; try out of new dies, etc. Must be able to lift 75 pounds. Precision and hand tools will be required. Plant environment.
