JOB TITLE: SPECIAL EDUCATION PARAEDUCATOR

REQUIREMENTS:

A.            Education Level:  Minimum high school diploma, Must have 2 years of post high school, or district will provide Project Para training
B.            Certification or Licensure:  None

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1.     To help fulfill the requirements of individual student’s educational plans by rendering whatever assistance is necessary under the direction of a teacher assigned to the mild/moderate handicapped students in the middle school.

2.     Such assistance would consist of, but not necessarily be limited to, supervision in classroom settings, individual tutorial assistance for academic tasks, assistance of students in physical education settings, assistance in transporting the student to different locations in the middle school either independently or in wheel chairs, assistance during recess and assistance in physical care when part of the student’s IEP.
