Job Summary
Under general supervision service and maintain industrial heating and air conditioning systems (including but not limited to industrial chillers) at a world-scale corn milling plant with a heavy emphasis on maintenance reliability.
Essential Job Functions
- Participates actively in safety and skills training in pursuit of personal improvement
- Possesses a thorough knowledge of HVAC systems, in order to diagnose and repair malfunctions
- Disassembles and diagnoses mechanical failures and performs repairs on HVAC equipment as required
- Installs new HVAC equipment as required, repairs and performs preventative maintenance duties as necessary
- Possess general computer skills
- Maintains manuals of replacement parts, specifications, blueprints of equipment and maintenance requirements to facilitate repairs also maintains such files and records in an orderly manner for future reference
- Develops knowledge of maintenance files, parts and vendors, and accesses information on the department computer as required
- Documents time spent, work performed and parts used on projects by completing time records through use of the Maintenance Management System
- Conducts regular inspections of tools, safety and production equipment
- Develops and maintains knowledge of hand and power tools used in the repair and maintenance of plant HVAC equipment
- Good regular and prompt attendance record
- Design, make and install duct systems
- May perform reasonably similar or related duties as required
- Minimum of 2-4 years of Industrial or commercial HVAC experience and/or two (2) year degree
- Must successfully complete all ADM Safety Certification requirements
- EPA Refrigerant license required
Experience Preferred
- Experience in any of the following areas is a plus:
- Training in electrical and/or instrumentation work (in an industry setting)
- Direct industrial maintenance experience or high exposure to industrial maintenance
- Experience with industrial chillers
- Experience with commercial or industrial HVAC troubleshooting and installation
- PLC experience and industrial controls experience
- Experience with CMMS
- Design and size HVAC systems

- Flexibility in accepting change
- Proven housekeeping and sanitation skills (MSS)
- Accurate record keeping and computer skills
- Basic maintenance skills, such as troubleshooting problems
Working Conditions
- Shift work and overtime – when needed
- May be called in to work unusual or extended schedules due to equipment breakdowns or similar circumstances
- Work with or around chemicals
- Working at heights and confined spaces
- Work outside and inside with temperature and weather conditions
