Job Title:       Administrative Assistant

Reports To:   President

Status:            Full‐Time

Updated:        June 2022

 

Position Purpose

The Administrative Assistant serves as the first point of contact for Chamber members in person, over the phone, and through other communications. This position will serve as an assistant to the President and be the main point of contact for membership onboarding and retention efforts and member services in close partnership with the President and other staff.

 

Examples of Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist members and walk-in visitors in a professional manner
  • Greet and assist members and others over the phone in a professional manner
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail
  • Manage onboarding process for all new members
  • Coordinate membership renewal activities
  • Maintain and process changes for Contractor Builder Service and Member-to-Member
  • Process member requests for Columbus Bucks, mailing labels, and other resources
  • Lead event registration efforts and assist members in registering for events
  • Maintain the Chamber office space and assist President in maintaining service contracts
  • Manage inventory of supplies and equipment for the office
  • Process requests to utilize Chamber boardroom and other reservable resources
  • Provide high-level administrative support and assistance to the President
  • Perform clerical and general office duties for President and other staff
  • Assist with additional Chamber duties as assigned

 

Education, Skills and/or Experience

  • Possess excellent written & verbal communication and planning skills
  • Strong administrative, time management, follow-through, and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to build and maintain trusting relationships
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other common technology
  • Bilingual communication skills a plus, but not required

 

Other

  • This position is based in Columbus, Nebraska
  • Some night and weekend work required
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
