Coming Soon to Columbus: FootGolf!
The City Council voted unanimously Monday night to add the FootGolf at Van Berg Golf Course, where it could be offered as soon as this fall.
Columbus Public Property Director Doug Moore called the activity — a combination of golf and soccer that’s growing in popularity across the U.S. — a “win-win” for the city.
Adding FootGolf, which follows standard golf rules but involves kicking a soccer ball into a 21-inch-diameter hole, gives the city another avenue to increase usage and revenue at Van Berg, according to Moore. And, he added, the hybrid activity could boost the number of local golfers by introducing soccer players to that sport.
