BD Investing $60 Million in Columbus Plant
BD will invest $60 million to upgrade its Columbus-East plant to a plastic molding manufacturing center over the next four years.
The investment will add 69,000 square feet to the facility to transform it into the flagship plastic molding manufacturing facility for BD. The company says the facility will be one of the largest and most-sophisticated plastic molding plants in the world, allowing BD to centralize production currently handled by third-party manufacturers.
The medical technology company is one of the largest users of plastic molded products in the world, with more than 700 billion units manufactured each year.
